The client for this project suffers from severe dust allergies and needed a hall table that wasn't going to collect dust underneath the bottom shelving area. After seeing a photograph in a magazine of a their "Dream table", they approached KNAVE Design about making a replica. The piece was to be solid wood, of heirloom quality, to have a solid base on the ground, six turned legs and it had to fit into a set space in the home.
We decided to go with Tasmanian Blackwood; a premium native timber with a beautiful darker tone. Like the picture, the six legs were all individually turned on the lathe. Traditional joinery techniques were used to attach the members together. We sourced a stone top to tie the piece in with the clients other surfaces.
